Allergy Relief Products
A vast number of allergy relief products are
available. Some are good and some are not so good. You could
get confused, deciding what to buy and what to leave alone.
Face
Masks
When you are cleaning your home, there are some
allergens that will inevitably cease to be static, and become
airborne. In a well kept home this may not be too much of a
problem, but an easy inexpensive way to protect yourself, is to
use a facemask. They don’t look too bad if there is nobody else
at home! Seriously, there are other allergy relief products
available, when heavier cleaning jobs are undertaken, that are
more robust and carry special filters.
Allergy Relief
Air Filters
There is nothing more vital to your existence
than the air you breathe, providing that it is fresh, clean,
and not loaded with contaminants, that to some people are
allergens. This is why allergy relief air filters are
important products. However, you should know that they are not
designed to filter out dust mites that usually become airborne
through cleaning, or using a vacuum cleaner. There are special
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, which can be
placed wherever they are required. These special allergy relief
air filters are reputed to be 99.9% effective and will catch
particles that less efficient devices could miss. Therefore, it
would seem that allergy relief air filters are a worth while
investment for many allergy sufferers.
Vacuum
Devices
Vacuum cleaners can be a boon and there are not
many homes that don’t have a vacuum device of some sort.
Special bags are available that seal in the contents. It would
be a sound idea to discuss vacuum cleaning with your allergy
product supplier. Suction devices are being constantly
improved, and it should be possible to obtain a bagless suction
device, that totally contains sucked up particles that cannot
escape, and are easy to dispose of.
Dust Mite
Control
Most of the allergy relief products available
for controlling dust mites are in either powdered form or
sprays. Examine the label to determine the contents, and note
whether tannic acids, are listed. They are known to be
effective for treating various allergens, including dust mites,
and animal dander, found in carpets and other furnishings.
Where there are two or more cats in a home, the
sprays may be less effective. Also, because tannic acids may
discolor light colored carpets and other fabrics, you may wish
to try them on spare material, before wider distribution.
Allergy relief products containing benzyl benzoale are also
worth trying.
Dehumidifiers
There are some allergens that thrive in humid
conditions, and if you live in a high humidity area a
dehumidifier would be a wise investment. These allergy relief
products will reduce humidity, and reduce the effect of dust
mites, mold and other humidity loving allergens.
Allergen
Resistant Bedding
“Good night. Don’t let the bugs bite.” Is
something often said in humor, but it has more serious
implications. Bed bugs don’t just bite, but can also trigger
allergic reactions, pretty much the same as dust mites do.
Allergy relief product suppliers will be able to recommend
special mattresses and pillows that are virtually bug
proof.
Allergy relief products enjoy a good-sized
market, and it is to be hoped that the ingenuity of man will
continue to provide increasingly useful devices.
